Isadora Banyai originally hails from San Francisco, California, and now calls Brooklyn home. Banyai is a chamber music enthusiast, orchestral performer, and solo artist and is currently assistant principal violist of the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony. As a founding member of the Trio Atropos, Banyai is committed to performing new works written by women composers in unconventional performance spaces. Banyai enjoys performing in a range of styles and genres and is a member of the psychedelic baroque pop band Cult Goddess (@cult_goddess).

Banyai recently received her Master of Music from NYU in Viola Performance studying under Professor Stephanie Baer. At NYU she served as principal of the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of David Bloom and Broadway Orchestra under the direction of Ted Sperling. She greatly enjoyed performed with the Baroque Ensemble under the direction of Myron Lutzke and the new jazz crossover ensemble with Gregg Agust. Banyai has participated in masterclasses with Sheila Browne, Dana Kelley, and Basil Vendryes, and has performed internationally in Italy, Norway, and Switzerland.

As a member of the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Banyai has performed at Herbst Theater in San Francisco, Benicia Clock Tower in Benicia, and in Scuol Switzerland on their summer tour. She also performs regularly with local theater groups with recent credits including principal viola for Utopia Opera’s Jesus Christ Superstar and second violin for the Brick Church Community Theater’s Wizard of Oz.
